Mirah Johnston is a lyric mezzo soprano currently based in Boston, MA. She is a thoughtful and passionate performer who strives to embody her characters fully and honestly. With performance experience in opera, oratorio, choral works, and art song, Mirah is always looking for opportunities to bring vocal music to new audiences, especially in communities where access to the arts is limited. Most recently, she has performed operatic roles such as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro and the Minskwoman in Jonathon Dove’s Flight‍ at the New England Conservatory of Music.

Born and raised in New England, Mirah grew up in the small town of Nottingham, New Hampshire—about an hour’s drive north of Boston. At 18, Mirah moved to the city with a full tuition scholarship to study at Boston University, where she received her Bachelors of Music from the College of Fine Arts. Following her time at BU, Mirah was accepted to study voice at the prestigious New England Conservatory where she completed her Masters of Music, studying voice under the tutelage of Professor Carole Haber.
